A Personal Year 1 is a fresh start — plant seeds. The middle years build and test them. A Personal Year 9 is a clearing-out, the end of a chapter before the next 1 begins. Knowing which year you're in helps you work with the current instead of against it.
How it's found
Your Personal Year comes from your birth month and day — not your birth year — added to the calendar year you're asking about, then reduced to a single digit. Because it uses the current year, it changes every January.

How do I calculate my Personal Year Number?
Reduce your birth month, your birth day, and the calendar year you want to read, each to a single digit, then add the three and reduce once more to 1–9. For example, born 18 June, reading 2026: month 6, day 1+8=9, year 2+0+2+6=10→1; total 6+9+1=16→7. That is a Personal Year 7. This calculator does it for any year you choose.
When does my personal year change?
The common convention is that your Personal Year Number changes on 1 January, because the calculation uses the calendar year. Some numerologists shift the change to your birthday instead. This calculator uses the 1 January (calendar-year) method, which is the most widely taught.
What do the nine personal years mean?
Very broadly: Year 1 begins things and sets direction; Year 2 is patience, partnership, and slow growth; Year 3 is expression, creativity, and social life; Year 4 is work, structure, and foundations; Year 5 is change, freedom, and the unexpected; Year 6 is home, responsibility, and love; Year 7 is reflection, study, and inner work; Year 8 is power, ambition, and reward; Year 9 is completion and release before the cycle restarts.
