Arcana Origin's chart calculation runs through a multi-tier dispatcher. Each tier is an independent ephemeris implementation. The dispatcher attempts the highest-precision tier first; if unavailable (missing dependency, network failure, license check), it falls through to the next. Every chart carries the engine that produced it as metadata. Adding a new engine — when we license Swiss Ephemeris, for example — is a one-line registration.
Of the 73 traditions in Arcana Origin, roughly 15 use planetary positions and route through this dispatcher. The remaining 58 are calendrical, numerological, or oracular — Mayan Tzolkin, Aztec Xiuhpohualli, Chinese BaZi, Hebrew Sefer Yetzirah, Pythagorean numerology, Lo Shu Grid, Tarot, Runes, I Ching, Geomancy, and more. These use deterministic algorithms drawn from the authoritative source for each system. They don't depend on ephemeris precision at all — they're either right or wrong by construction.
Where ancient and modern systems diverge — for instance, Lahiri ayanamsa giving a different sidereal position than tropical zodiac — we report both, rather than reconcile. The traditions disagreed for centuries; we don't pretend otherwise.

Two independent local algorithms compute the Sun's ecliptic longitude — Meeus's analytical formula (ch. 25) and a USNO-derived series with different polynomial coefficients. Their agreement (typically well under one arc-second) is itself a precision check: two algorithms disagreeing would expose a calculation bug.
NASA JPL Horizons cross-validation is planned for the deployed version (it requires a server-side proxy because the JPL API does not include CORS headers, blocking direct browser fetches).
